Christian Television Ministries have an estimated 53,000,000 viewers with overlap (i.e., some viewers are members of particular Christian denominations). Also, some viewers watch multiple Christian television programs.

Currently, Christianity dominates over other religions in terms of religious television programming. Besides attracting new members and old members back to religion, religious television programming can be an outstanding way to solicit donations. Consider the fact that Oral Roberts used his television ministry as a prime source in funding the building of his first-class, fully accredited Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma (U.S.A.).

[Special Television Programs of] Billy Graham Crusades, which are led by Billy Graham, one of Christianity's greatest evangelists or recruiters since 1949. The crusades are held at locations around the world. Billy Graham, born on November 7, 1918, has a Baptist background and founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) in 1950. BGEA had its headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota until 2003. Currently, the BGEA headquarters is in Charlotte, North Carolina.

[Channel] Liberty Channel , which is the television division of Jerry Falwell Ministries . Liberty Channel offers numerous family-rated and Christian-based programs including Thomas Road LIVE! (Old-Time Gospel Hour). The Liberty Channel is broadcast over the Sky Angel Satellite television service. Dr. Jerry Falwell founded the Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia (U.S.A.) in 1956. He became active in politics in the late 1970's and founded the Moral Majority, which became a well-known and well-named lobbying group. Later, Dr. Falwell founded Liberty University and numerous other ministry divisions. His organization is also referred to as Liberty Alliance. [Television Program of] Oral Roberts Ministries , which is now run mainly by Oral's son Richard Roberts. Richard Roberts has his own television program called "Something Good Tonight, The Hour Of Healing", that is produced by Oral Roberts and televised at Oral Roberts University. Oral Roberts, born on January 24, 1918, became one of the world's greatest television evangelist ever in the 1960's, at least in terms of raising money. Oral wrote and promoted his book titled Miracle of Seed-Faith, that is about giving and receiving and has about eight million copies in circulation. With donations received, Oral Roberts was able to finance the building of Oral Roberts University, a modern and fully-accredited university in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1963; University Village, a retirement complex; Prayer Tower on the University grounds and the City of Faith Medical and Research Center (that operated from 1981-1989).



[Television Program] "The 700 Club", which is broadcasted by Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) based in Virginia Beach, Virginia (U.S.A.) since 1966. Currently, The 700 Club can be seen on the ABC Family cable channel.



[Television Program] Dr. Robert H. Schuller and his son Robert A. Schuller's Hour of Power , is one of the largest religious televised programs in the world, being broadcasted in over 180 countries with over 20 million viewers. The Hour of Power is also the world's largest church service, being televised from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California (U.S.A.) since 1970. Currently, the Hour of Power can be seen on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Discovery and Lifetime cable stations. Dr. Robert H. Schuller became famous with his book titled Move Ahead with Possiblity Thinking (1969). Dr. Robert H. Schuller also distinguished himself among his peers with the Robert H. Schuller Institute for Successful Church Leadership, which has been attended by more than 20,000 pastors since 1970.



[Channel] Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) , which is the world's largest religious television channel. TBN programming is televised by over 5,000 television stations, 33 satellites, the Internet and thousands of cable systems around the world. TBN was founded by Paul and Jan Crouch for Christian programming in 1973. TBN headquarters are currently located in Costa Mesa, California.

[Television Programs of] Back to the Bible , which is based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Its television programs are currently available on a few TV stations and the Inspirational Life Television (i-Lifetv) digital cable channel.

[Channel] Catholic Familyland Network (FL-TV) , which is conducted by the Apostolate for Family Consecration based in Bloomingdale, Ohio (U.S.A), offers Catholic-approved television programming.

[Channel] Daystar Television Network , which is currently based in Dallas, Texas, officially launched on December 31, 1997 and offers worldwide Christian TV programming via about 40 TV stations (in U.S.A.), cable, satellite channels and the Internet.

[Channel] Gospel Music Channel , which is based in Atlanta, Georgia and started on October 30, 2004, offers 24 hour Christian Pop, Rock, Hip Hop and R & B Gospel music.

[Television Show] The Harvest Show of the LeSEA Brodcasting Network based in South Bend, Indiana, is an internationally syndicated live, hour-long, daily television program.

[Channel] The Orthodox Church's Orthodox Christian Television (OCTV) , which is based in California (U.S.A.), offers Orthodox Christian television programming in Southern California as well as cable and satellite channels since 2003.

[Television Programs of] Seventh-day Adventist's BETTERLIFETV.TV (KBLN) , based in Grants Pass of Southern Oregon (U.S.A.). KBLN is an affiliate of Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) and currently produces local programming for Southern Oregon and some areas in Northern California, via satellite, cable and UHF channels. [Satellite Service] Sky Angel , which provides Christian Satellite TV service and first aired on December 10, 1996 with three channels. [Channel] SPIRIT Television , which is based in Westerville, Ohio (U.S.A.), offers 24x7 contemporary Christian music videos for adults via the Sky Angel Satellite TV service since 2003.

[Channel] Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) , which offers 24x7 Christian programming that is broadcast on UHF stations via satellite uplink stations in North America. 3ABN Christian programming is also available in parts of Russia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. 3ABN was founded by Danny Shelton in Southern Illinois in 1984.

[Channel] United Church of God's America Tomorrow Cable Access TV , which is based in Portland, Oregon and sponsored by local congregations of the church since 1994. Programs are currently broadcasted in 21 states across the country (U.S.A.).

[Television Programs of] Worship Network , which was founded in Clearwater, Florida (U.S.A.) in 1992 to inspire and encourage a quiet time to worship God, offers 24x7 praise and worship music videos in conjunction with the PAX-TV channel (during the overnight hours) and via Sky Angel Satellite service. Its television programming reaches North, Central and South America, as well as Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand via cable and broadcast channels.

[Online Television Programs of] Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City , currently offers live services via Internet from the Salt Lake City, Utah (U.S.A.) on Sundays at 8am, 10am and 12 noon and Wednesdays at 7pm. Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City is a ministry extension of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in California, whose Senior Pastor is Chuck Smith. However, all Calvary Chapel churches are independent of one another (non-denominational).
